Participatory Workshop in Surabaya for POST 2015 project

From Sep.9 to Sep.13, three members from our group (Anna-san,  Suehara-san, and Abe) had been in Surabaya, Indonesia to organize the first participatory workshop (PWS) for POST 2015 project in Surabaya, Indonesia.  Anna-san visited Surabaya in July for the preparatory work and we had been busy for the arrangements and designing the event with our partners from the Center for Environmental Studies, the University of Surabaya.  Mr. Yunus Fransiscus and his colleagues have been wonderfully cooperative with us and contributed to the PWS greatly.  I believe we did good collaborative work this time as one team!

While organizing a workshop is indeed demanding and daunting, it is just a part of the research plan.  We need to analyze what we found and collected through the PWS.

We will organize the second PWS in the Philippines, hopefully next month.

The photo below is about Suehara-san’s efforts to communicate with a local resident  by using iPhone’s English-Indonesian dictionary.  Do you wonder whether or not he was Successful?  Well, please ask him!
