Hello everyone.
How are you doing?
exactly one month passed since I came to Indonesia.
I would like to share my days in Indonesia.
First of all no one believe that I am pure Japanese.
Someone say I am from Indonesia, and someone say I am thai.
I think it is good thing. But many Indonesian people talk to me in Indonesia.
I am so sorry that I don’t speak Indonesia. I am studying Indonesia but It looks long way to use.
My daily life
I am staying international dormitory together with 17 people from many different countries.
Basically I am doing research under water treatment laboratory.
They installed wastewater treatment system in a village and monitoring the effect.
Actually system dose not work well. Because it is not maintained well.
So these days I visit the village and talk to people do questionnaire and consider sustainable maintenance system with my colleague.
I did not expect this research but when I explain my research interest that focus on social aspect or community development, my supervisor got interested in that aspect then this project started suddenly. It was so lucky.
I will share this research next time.
Last week I visited Gajamada University in Jogjakarta it is 350km far from Bandung where I am usually staying.
There I visited one professor Dr.Wiratni who is installing Biogas digester system in a village.
I could do questionnaire survey there as well.
I visited 3 villages and talk to people about how is their daily lives and how do they use that system.
And the person who is sitting next to me was so impressive person.
He is kind of specialist of field survey.
His back ground is so interesting. He have his own garage to repair motorcycle or car and doing researcher as his hobby. And also he is professional photographer.
He gave me special lecture how to make good field survey. How to open people’s mind and get honest answer.
It was great lecture. I would like share with all of you it will be also next time.
Fortunately I am enjoying Indonesia with many good friend and having great experience with impressive researchers.
See you soon
