These six consonants are very difficult to make proper sounds for Japanese since originally, we don’t have these sounds. So, when Japanese speak English, we should take care these sounds. Also, it is good to keep in mind these facts for international students in order to find Japanese the mistakes of pronunciations easily.
In fact, I have a bitter experiences concerned with this pronunciation. When I’ve been to Roma, I discussed with the roots of sightseeing with friends. At the time, I intended to say “Karakara bath”, which is one of famous large bath in ancient Roma, but my pronunciation was “Karakara bus”. Bus is also frequently used word during trips. Thus, it took time to understand that mistake.
After the incident, I began to pay attention to the matter.
