キプロスに行ってみたいですね～☆

Friends and Wedding, Family and Easter

It had almost been two years since I returned home.
It felt even longer because I longed for my family and home country.
I started my holiday with two weeks back home on the island in the sun.
Cyprus I was shocked to find that Cyprus felt cooler than Japan, but that didn’t stop me from jumping into the sea at every chance I got.
Chilly as it may have been, swimming with my father was a nice bonding experience.
I also enjoyed spending Easter with my extended family.
Thirty people gathered around a table where we cooked a whole lamb and then feasted on it.
Since Easter was a rainy day, we had to build a rain cover.
As you can see in the photo, I’m in a tractor bucket, where I was lifted up to help build the rain pergola for the celebration.
It was a race against time—while all my uncles argued about how to build the pergola, my cousin and I quietly put it all together.
I spent a lot of one-on-one time with my mother and sister, as well as with my best friends from high school.
We recorded music, went out to bars, and ate a lot of delicious food.

France

I then spent one week in the south of France, in a place called Nice, on the Côte d’Azur, in the Riviera.
The sea was indeed azure, and the place was gorgeous. Reuniting with my best friends from university after five years was an incredible feeling.
We rented cars and drove to Monaco and the French mountains, which was an unforgettable experience.
We ate so many croissants and sandwiches—French bread really is incredible.
I ate so much bread that I was looking forward to Japanese food again.
The wedding was beautiful, with many people crying as the first friend in our group got married to another best friend, we all met together at university.
In a little house in the mountains, it was an unforgettable experience.

友達と結婚式、家族とイースター

帰国してからほぼ2年が経ちました。
家族や故郷が恋しかったので、もっと長く感じました。

休日は日差しの島、キプロスでの2週間が始まりました。キプロスが日本より涼しく感じたことに驚きましたが、それでも海に飛び込むチャンスを逃しませんでした。
寒かったけれど、父と泳ぐのは素晴らしい絆の体験でした。拡大家族と一緒にイースターを過ごすのも楽しかったです。

30人が集まり、丸ごと一匹の羊を調理してそれを楽しみました。
イースターの日は雨だったので、雨よけを作る必要がありました。
写真のように、私はトラクターのバケットに乗って、イースターのお祝いのために雨よけのパーゴラを建てるのを手伝いました。時間との戦いで、叔父たちがパーゴラの作り方で口論している間に、私といとこは黙々とそれを組み立てました。母や姉妹と一対一で過ごす時間も多く、高校時代の親友とも多くの時間を過ごしました。音楽を録音したり、バーに行ったり、たくさんの美味しい食べ物を食べたりしました。

フランス

その後、フランス南部のコート・ダジュールにあるニースという場所で1週間を過ごしました。

海は本当に青く、美しい場所でした。
5年ぶりに大学の親友たちと再会し、全員で車をレンタルしてモナコやフランスの山々をドライブするのは忘れられない経験でした。
クロワッサンやサンドイッチをたくさん食べ、フランスのパンは本当に素晴らしいと感じました。
パンをたくさん食べたので、日本食が恋しくなりました。結婚式は美しく、多くの人が涙を流しました。
グループの最初の友人が結婚し、大学で一緒に出会ったもう一人の親友と一緒でした。
山の中の小さな家で、それは忘れられない経験でした。
